Why See My Chiro When the Pain Stop?

Many People see pain as the main indicator of being healthy or unhealthy. The arrival of pain is associated with the perceived cause of it...'I was drying my hair' or 'I just picked up my kid' etc. Obviously these daily tasks are not dangerous and should not cause your back to injure or your neck to be stiff.
In most cases your problem has not occurred overnight, there have been months and years of cumulative stress and trauma that have brought you to this state. Daily habits are mostly the root cause of all complaints we see in the practice. Sedentary work, sitting at a computer for 8 hours a day and a sedentary lifestyle, not partaking in exercise especially stretching exercise like Yoga and Pilates, has a massive effect on the body and the way it functions.
Our bodies work best when they have movement, when we used to sow our food and catch our dinner we were far healthier, now many of us sit all day, get home have dinner and plonk in front of the TV. And it's fair enough, because we work hard and are pretty beat by the end of the day, but we also need to realise that when problems occur, this lifestyle has played a major part.
Healing does take time, whether you are in pain or not, it has 3 stages, acute inflammation, repair and re-modelling. If our clients stop coming after the inflammation and pain is gone, but do not stick around for the repair and re-modelling, we will see them again with the same issues. To give up treatment when the pain goes is costly and time consuming for you, as we need to start right back at the beginning of treatment.
To keep up maintenance when you are much better, and make a few changes to your lifestyle when you can, will result in a well adjusted body that lets you do all the things that you want to do and do them well!
