Meet the Inner West Spinal & Sports Injury Centre Team

Dominic Salvemini
Dominic Salvemini (B AppSc Podiatry M A P A)

Dominic is a podiatrist of wide and varying experience. He graduated from the University of South Australia in 1996 before moving to Canberra. There he cut his teeth, in one of Australia's pioneering biomechanics podiatry practices. It was here that Dominic had the opportunity of working with members of the AIS athletics and cycling teams as well as premier level footballers.

A move back to Adelaide followed where the emphasis shifted to family based practice. It was here Dominic recalls the satisfaction of making a difference to the physical development of the younger clients, helping them avoid the frustration of injury which he experienced as an adolescent trying to compete in contact sport.

In 2000 Dominic moved to Sydney pursuing his desire for biomechanics based podiatry. Consultancies in the City and Neutral Bay were followed by the establishment of his own first practice in Five Dock. Here the target groups were sports people and children with a successful practice the result. Dominic joined the Inner West Spinal & Sports Injury Centre in 2005 providing treatment for specific podiatric conditions as well as supporting chiropractic work in suitable cases.

Dominic's special focus in biomechanics, postural solutions and sports podiatry has seen him resolve a myriad of podiatric problems as well as work with the Inner West team on many cases resulting in the enhancement and achievement of superior results for our clients.

Sarah Walsh
Sarah Walsh (Office Manager)

Sarah Walsh has joined us as our Practice Manager. Sarah is from Ireland where she studied a Bachelor of Social Science. She has spent the last five years working in the medical field as a secretary and pathologist. Last year she and her husband Al made the big move from Dublin to Sydney and are very much enjoying the benefits of Aussie living.

Sarah says; “I had become disillusioned with medicine and it’s obvious drawbacks some time ago, however it was my husbands’ neck, back and knee problems that introduced me to Chiropractic. He felt like a forty year old at 27, however after a few visits with his Chiropractor he soon enjoyed life as an active young man! Although I have not had the problems my husband has, I benefit greatly from Chiropractic care in feeling overall health and well being."

Andrew Asks some important questions of interest to Sydney residents - Chiropractor Sydney Andrew Asks...

Will chiropractic adjustments make my spine too loose?
No. Only the spinal joints that are fixated and "locked up" receive attention. The occasional spinal joint that moves too much is passed over so weakened muscles and ligaments can strengthen and heal.
How could chiropractic help a stomach problem?
Chiropractic works by locating and reducing areas of the spine compromising nerve communications between your brain and your body. If nerves to or from your stomach are irritated, your stomach won't work right. Chiropractors find the source of the interference, reduce it and allow your body to work as designed.
